Description

Konjac Mannan gel powder is a pure natural thickener made out of the tuber of Amorphophallus Konjac. It is a linear polysaccharide in a molecular weight range of 1 to 2 million Dalton and as such helps increasing skin hydration. It is based on a combination of Glucose and Mannose and is therefore called Glucomannan. Polysaccharides are well known for their moisturizing properties and also maintain the protective layer of the skin.

INCI Name: Glucomannan or Amorphophallus Konjac Root Extract

Use level and Method:  0.05-2%, Konjac Mannan gel powder is dispersed at the best with a minimum of 2 % Glycerine to avoid the formation of hydro colloidal lumps. Afterwards the water phase can be added till 90°C under stirring. Precipitation by ethanol with concentrations above 10 %. 0.7 % Konjac Mannan gel powder improves skin hydration up to 15 % after 3 h and 7 % after 28 days, pH-stability 2 – 7, can be worked in up to 90°C
